2012–2016

D2I was a Finnish nationwide project with multiple partners and areas of interest. The partners included both enterprises and research organisations.

In our part, I researched the management of information and knowledge required for the refinement of measurement data. This management occurred in a geographically distributed machine fleet, and the particular case was related to forestry.

Two cases were covered. In the first case, the topic was knowledge management related to the assessment of the performance of machine operators. In the second case, the topic was the management of information and knowledge of the optimisation of machine parameters. In both cases, the main challenge was that although measurement data was refined for an entire machine fleet, the individual machines operated in arbitrary geographical locations without persistent Internet connectivity. For both of the cases, I developed prototype applications.
