FEMMa - Future Electrified Mobile Machines
–
Electrification can benefit mobile machines, and the full advantage can be reached with suitable approaches for intelligence and data management. The scope of the project spans areas, such as batteries, the routing of machine fleets, and data collection, management, and sharing.
My tasks in the project were related to data management in edge and cloud, especially related to data autonomy. The operation of machine fleets can involve multiple stakeholders, at least the operator, manufacturer, and maintenance service providers. These can exploit the data collected from the machines, but the operator ultimately owns the data. The owner should be able to control who does what with the data in the spirit of International Data Spaces (IDS) and Gaia-X. In addition, I assisted in data exchange tasks related to a routing use case of cranes in a harbor.
